Old World Brewing Practices Enhanced by Modern Technology.

At Altstadt we brew authentic German style beers in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. These traditional beers are handcrafted to old world standards inspired by the Reinheitsgebot (German Beer Purity Law established in 1516). We use only natural imported ingredients and pure Texas water to deliver the supreme drinkability and smooth, crisp flavor you expect from German-style beers.

Copper Plated Rolec Brewhouse

Imported from Germany, this digital brewing system, designed by German Brewmasters, features a mash kettle, Lauter Tun, and Wort Kettle.

Kaspar Schulz Brewing System

Discovered by Altstadt’s founders in a pre-WWII Bavarian brewhouse.

Two 30 hL Open Fermentation Tanks

One of the few breweries featuring both open and closed fermentation tanks allowing for various styles of ales and lagers. These open fermentors house our yeast for our Hefeweizen.
