Native of Mobile, Alabama, Scott Boland split his time between dirt bikes and guitar riffs until classical piano ran off with his ambition. Opting for a life in music, Scott studied classical, jazz, and world music which eventually landed him in Texas where he is currently a session multi-instrumentalist, producer, teacher, and performer with Ruben & Friends.
Tony Young left his San Angelo, TX. home at age 18 to pursue a career in music, attending college and performing in San Francisco. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles and worked at recording studios and live performance venues, then managed his own studio and played music in Santa Fe, N.M., until coming back home to Texas where he has created a program teaching music at a facility for abused children.
Drummer, Matt Davenport from Sonora, TX. played professionally and raised a family. Now through the miracles of modern medicine and “muscle memory”, he has returned to the music world, playing live with Ruben & Friends. He restarted his music career through a sense of purpose.

Debbi Walton of Marble Falls, TX. has been a fixture in the hill country music scene for three decades. Smoky alto soul to burn disciple of Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, and Delbert McClinton, she seldom fails to move the emotions of anyone who will take the time to listen.
Gary Thomas from Victoria, TX. started playing jazz at 15, inspired by his talented grandfather, a Navy Band veteran. Gary’s original sound and ability to blend into any genre earned him the name “Saxy” at the Kerrville Folk Festival in 2019. He has played with many accomplished musicians throughout the Lone Star state while recording saxophone and backup vocals on several albums, everything from jazz, folk, rock, blues, pop, electronic, and hip hop. His goal is to perform with famous artists from all over the world and continue to play with his local brothers and sisters who go deeper in the woods than most.
